Soft Magnetic Bulk Glassy Fe–B–Si–Nb Alloys with High Saturation Magnetization above 1.5 T

New Fe-based bulk glassy alloys were synthesized in the (Fe0.75B0.15Si0.10)100−x Nbx system by copper mould casting. The maximum diameter of the bulk glassy alloy rod was 0.5 mm at 1 at%Nb, 1.0 mm at 2 at%Nb and 1.5 mm at 4 at%Nb. No glass transition is observed at 0 at%Nb, but the addition of Nb causes the appearance of glass transition before crystallization. The glass transition temperature ...

FeCo-BASED SOFT MAGNETIC NANOCRYSTALLINE ALLOYS

The influence of microstructure on the magnetic properties is studied in series of of FeCoNbB, FeCoZrB and FeCoMoBCu amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys with different amount of crystalline phase.V arious thermomagnetic treatments have been used in order to tailor the soft magnetic characteristics of these alloys for potential applications. We report on a beneficial effect of both longitudinal...

Structure and magnetic properties of „Fe0.5Co0.5...88Zr7B4Cu1 nanocrystalline alloys

The development of Fe73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 ~FINEMET! by Yoshizawa et al. and Fe88Zr7B4Cu1 ~NANOPERM! by Inoue et al. have shown that nanocrystalline microstructures can play an important role in the production of materials with outstanding soft magnetic properties. The FINEMET and NANOPERM materials rely on nanocrystalline a-Fe3Si and a-Fe, respectively, for their soft magnetic properties. The mag...

High-entropy Alloys with High Saturation Magnetization, Electrical Resistivity, and Malleability

Soft magnetic materials (SMMs) find important applications in a number of areas. The diverse requirements for these applications are often demanding and challenging for the design and fabrication of SMMs. Here we report a new class of FeCoNi(AlSi)x (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.8 in molar ratio) SMMs based on high-entropy alloys (HEAs). It is found that with the compositional and structural changes, the optimal b...
